I am currently working on improving the createRepo performance. On Friday February 25th with the help of Chris Tyler I put Hong Kong and Ireland on 1 Gbps hub to see if that would improve Hong Kong createRepo performance. We also move some of the createRepo to Ireland. At this put in time I did not see any improvement but I am still doing some investigation to see if there was a little improvement.

When it came to building the two packages from source code their was no problem. I was able to build the two packages in about three minutes. The two packages that I used are wget and which.
